What does the future hold for museum learning in the digital age? What are the needs and demands of 22nd century audiences who have unlimited access to online and cultural resources?
These were among the topics discussed by over 200 museum professionals and educators from Europe, Australia and Asia, who gathered at the Singapore Art Museum’s two-day education symposium, “DEAR FUTURE, Museum Learning in the Digital Age” to exchange perspectives and ideas on museum-based learning for tomorrow.
The meeting of minds saw over 20 speeches and presentations centred around how museums can embrace digital transformation. My personal favourites were the keynote by Vincent Poussou, Director of Audiences and Digital from the Grand Palais – RMN (Officiel) in France, and the insightful sharing by Terry Deen, Head of Learning from Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art in Australia.
As an arts graduate in the field of mass communication, majoring in public relations and journalism, Emcee Wayne Chan thoroughly enjoyed transforming the event’s sophisticated programme into an engaging and endearing experience for all who attended at the Singapore Botanic Gardens
