Geo Connect Asia (GCA) 2022, the second edition of Southeast Asia’s flagship geospatial and location intelligence technology trade event, organised by Montgomery Asia and held at the Marina Bay Sands, was a highlight of the recent resumption of large face-to-face business events in Singapore.

The mega-meeting met the sourcing and networking needs of close to 2,000 geospatial professionals from a record 36 countries, with over 40 exhibitors from 14 countries showcasing their latest technology at the exhibition, and 79 prominent speakers and moderators spurring robust discussions on the application of geospatial technology across multiple industry verticals.

The event was graced by Guest-of-Honour Mr Edwin Tong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law, who delivered the opening address at the opening ceremony. Minister Tong also toured the exhibition showground, including the 12 companies comprising the Singapore Pavilion, led by SGTech.

A key highlight of the opening ceremony was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) and the Real Estate Developers’ Association of Singapore (REDAS), aiming to fortify collaboration between the two organisations to promote awareness of geospatial technologies and organise joint events and capability-development programmes to address challenges faced by the real estate and related industries.

Thank you so much for having Emcee Wayne Chan as the official Master-of-Ceremonies for this momentous event, an eye-opening 2-day conference that looked to address some of the region’s leading challenges by providing a platform for industry professionals, government agencies and start-ups to come together to build and develop knowledge and solutions for Asia’s geospatial & location intelligence markets – encouraging interoperability, open sourcing and the sharing of key learnings, thus facilitating an increased opportunity for improving productivity and change in key sectors of the economy.
