It was an honour for Singapore Emcee Wayne Chan to host a special Splash into Victory – Meet the Quah Siblings event in June 2023 organised by OCBC Bank at their largest branch with lifestyle experiences covering some 20,000 sq ft at Wisma Atria.
The three Quahs, Singapore’s most famous family of swimming champions, who shared a most special moment during the recent 32nd SEA Games clinching gold alongside each other during the mixed 4x100m medley relay, need no further introduction but just for the uninitiated:
🏆 Quah Ting Wen, the eldest of the 3 Quah siblings, is Singapore’s national swimmer and a three-time Olympian who has won 60 SEA games medals since 2007. In the recent 2023 Cambodia sea games, she secured 6 gold and 2 silvers, and also claimed Singapore’s 1000th sea games medal with her relay team consisting Quah Ting Wen, Marina Chan, Quah Jing Wen and Amanda Lim. She currently holds the national record for 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle events, and an unbroken 2008 national record for 400m Individual medley.
🏆 Quah Zheng Wen, who specialises in backstroke, butterfly, freestyle, and individual medley events, is a 3-time Olympian, who represented Singapore in London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2022. He currently has 32 Gold medals, 12 silver medals and 5 bronze medals, most bemedaled male swimmer in Singapore.
🏆 Quah Jing Wen, the youngest of the 3, clocked 2min 12.95sec and set an Under-17 200m butterfly Singaporean national record at the Neo Garden 13th Singapore National Swimming Championships, breaking Tao Li’s record set in 2005. Today, she holds 20 gold medals, 1 silver and 2 bronze from her sea games participation and was named among the four best athletes for their individual performances at the 2022 Hanoi SEA Games with 6 gold and 1 bronze medals.
It was a pleasure moderating this exclusive “meet and greet” event where Wayne got to ask the Quahs their thoughts and advice to aspiring athletes in Singapore, the secret of their success in balancing school, training and social life, as well as which of them has the most “rizz”. 😂😎
Thank you so much to #OCBC for having Singapore Emcee Wayne Chan host this fun show featuring our Team Singapore sports legends!
