When we were planning the first ever Christmas countdown show for Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by the Bay, we knew we needed a host that fully embodies the Yuletide spirit and was capable of capturing the attention of a crowd in a public setting. Wayne was the first name that came to mind.

Christmas Wonderland is Singapore’s biggest annual Yuletide fair which has attracted approximately half a million visitors annually on average since its debut in 2014, so it was crucial to select the right emcee who could bring the holiday mood and festive cheer to a massive fairground.

Wayne was able to personify what we envisioned, bringing a commanding presence to our show and even took the initiative to put on his own Christmas themed outfit, fitting right in with Santa, his elves, and other magical Christmas characters at our event. The team engaged Wayne as a host and moderator for the Formula 1 tech conference, one of Singapore GP’s community outreach events in 2019.

I cannot recommend Wayne enough! When I was with German MNC Thyssenkrupp, I was looking out for a bilingual emcee that was able to host our CNY and anniversary corporate events. We had customers coming from all over Southeast Asia and being in the manufacturing industry, it was a tough crowd to navigate and manage. It was a real pleasure to have Wayne as our Emcee at our 50th anniversary D&D! It was one of the highlights of the year to Hilti Far East as we have established a robust business in Singapore for 50 years already thanks to the highly engaged employees and customers. I first met Wayne when he was hosting Gamestart Asia in 2014, and felt he would be a good fit to facilitate a media event I was in charge of during my time at Singtel. Wayne hosted our two-day CCAS Regional Contact Centre Symposium & APPCAL EXPO at Resorts World Sentosa, engaging and entertaining some 170 international delegates who had flown in from around the world to learn and exchange views about best practices from global contact centre industry experts.

We engaged Wayne in 2016 for the Loyang Bus Depot Carnival, a public event attended by around 3000 people, including government officials and residents of all ages in local community.

We engaged renowned Emcee Wayne Chan to host our Art of Singapore Exhibition launch at Orchard Gateway on 10 Dec 2015, which came with the unveiling of a Coffee Table Book filled with paintings by Mr Ang Hao Sai, Singapore’s last movie poster painter. A high brow affair graced by Singapore’s former president, Mr S.R. Nathan, our event required a host with sophistication, which Wayne demonstrated with ease. Our guests were especially impressed with Wayne’s ability to use his voice to bring to life the stories behind the cinematic artwork depicting scenes of Singapore’s history. This storytelling ability was crucial to our event’s success, and Wayne’s experience as a former Channel NewsAsia TV reporter certainly came to the fore when he took the stage as our event emcee. We would certainly recommend Wayne’s emcee service for such corporate events in future.

We were very happy to have Wayne come on board as our livestream host for our online adoption drive with Hope for Animals. Wayne took on the challenge of helming our pilot episode, setting a really good tone and making it a very entertaining episode for the viewers. We especially appreciated how he captured the audiences with his exciting personality while engaging with both the pets and his partnering emcee. His great singing also adds to the ability to provide a lively episode which was enjoyable for both our viewers and the team filming it! Wayne was the perfect Master of Ceremony for the Design Excellence Awards event that I was in charge of directing in 2015. As with all awards ceremonies, the names of the Sponsors, VIPs and the Winners needed perfect pronunciations; the proceedings of the event were also crucial. Yet Wayne did all of that with ease.

There were also multiple last minute changes behind the scenes. What impressed me was Wayne’s flexible response and professionalism in ensuring the corporate events went smoothly.

Wayne hosted the finals of our inaugural talent competition, “Viral Voice” at Our Tampines Hub. It was LIVE and we engaged Wayne to emcee the evening’s programme. In spite of the technical challenges that a live broadcast sometimes presents, Wayne remained calm and not only entertained our audience but was also able to put all our finalists at ease whilst they were onstage before performing for public votes.

With professional judges from the entertainment industry and a live audience of more than half a thousand people, we wanted to give the competition a ‘Singapore Idol’ feel. Interacting with the audience, contestants and judges at the same time, Wayne achieved our intended objective with his witty remarks, engaging voice and commanding stage presence.
